Are you a Christian aged 16-27 with a passion for writing?
Join the Gen Z Speaks contest that offers cash prizes up to RM3,500 and the chance to be featured on Christian platforms such as Asian Beacon, Christianity Malaysia, Faithour, and Knowable God.
Organised by online evangelism ministry Knowable God, Gen Z Speaks hopes to hear voices from Malaysia’s young believers on issues that matter to them. David Chong, founder of Knowable God, envisioned a platform that would not only inspire, but equip, Gen Zers to share their stories through the lens of faith.
“As the emerging generation that will carry the good news of Jesus Christ in life, word and deed, we want to encourage Gen Z believers in Malaysia to realise how powerful their stories are. We want them to know their voices matter and deserve to be heard,” he said.
Open to all Christians aged 16-27 residing in Malaysia, submissions must be original, unpublished works of at least 1,000 words. The deadline for submission is 15 November 2024.
Stand a chance to win RM500 for your story
The contest features a variety of categories to encourage diverse expressions of life and faith:
- Gen Z Unfiltered Award by Knowable God: This is an open category where you can share your authentic Gen Z perspective on any topic.
- Friendship Award by Graceworks: Share the meaning of friendship and its impact on your life.
- Shadows and Light Award by Campus Crusade: Share your journey through mental health challenges and the moments of light that brought healing and hope.
- Calm in the Storm Award by Thomson CalmiLax: Share your practical tips and strategies for managing stress and maintaining calm.
- Sports Friendship Award by FCA Malaysia: Share how sports have helped you foster friendships, share your faith, and make an impact on your community.
Winners will receive a RM500 cash prize and a complimentary copy of “Twelve Strands,” courtesy of Graceworks. The judging panel comprises of Lysha Tan, a former journalist who has been writing for Knowable God since 2022, and Gwyneth Lim, a copywriter with a passion for weaving words.
