Pr Timothy Loh of Every Nation Church Malaysia leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion and love for God and people

On Saturday, 6 April 2024, Pr Timothy Loh was called home to be with the Lord.

The senior pastor of Every Nation Church Malaysia was a respected leader known for his love for people and a heart for the generations.

“The irony of it all is that Pr Tim did not collapse in this church; he collapsed in someone else’s church. That’s our pastor, he’s always blessing somebody else,” said Pr Victor Wong, a close friend and fellow pastor.

Indeed, Pr Tim lived for the greater cause of Jesus Christ.

On the day he passed away, Pr Tim had just finished a speaking engagement at Generations Church in Ara Damansara and was having dinner with church leaders when he collapsed.

Three doctors present immediately attended to him and performed CPR on-site and in the ambulance until he arrived at the hospital, but Pr Tim did not regain heart function.

After nearly an hour of continuous CPR, his death was confirmed at 7:57pm.

Pr Tim leaves behind his wife, Pr Teresa, and four children: Joel, Joash, Jayden and Joanna.

A spiritual father loved by all

A relational and personal leader, Pr Tim’s loss is keenly felt across the 14 churches under the Every Nation banner. Yesterday (7 April), a bereavement service was held in place of regular Sunday worship at the Every Nation Church Malaysia in Puchong.

Tears flowed as pastors shared memories of their spiritual father and led the congregation in prayer.

“I’m so sad that Pr Tim did not get to see us [in the church’s new space],” campus pastor Jason Lim said through tears.

“But I’m so grateful we have a pastor who really believes in the next generation, more than we believe in ourselves… I just felt that this assurance and affirmation that by faith, Pr Tim saw the next generation grow, fill up [our new space] and making an impact in the larger world. My prayer is that we too will see.”

Kids pastor Agape Yeo shared how Pr Tim was always just a text message away.

“I feel I have truly lost my spiritual father… but Pr Tim always pointed us to God, our God the Father. We are not alone; we will not be left orphans,” she said, encouraging the congregation to continue the race of loving God and people faithfully.

A minister with a heart for the world

Pr Victor spoke of Pr Tim’s love, compassion, patience, wisdom, humour, endurance, diligence and fatherly heart of God.

“His heart stopped so that ours will continue to beat strong with the love of God for one another and for the world. His last sermon shall be our first reminder. His final speech, “What is our main thing?” is both an invitation and a challenge. An invitation to always love God, and a challenge to always love people,” he said.

He added that Pr Tim’s life invites others to discover God in all of His splendour and wonder. Last night, Pr Victor conducted a family memorial for family and Every Nation staff, a “casual and meaningful event of sharing, worshipping, laughing and crying as we celebrated the life of Pr Timothy Loh”.

Pr Andy Yeoh of Generations Church, who was hosting dinner after service when Pr Tim lost consciousness, also shared a tribute to his friend and mentor on Instagram.

“Who would’ve thought that you would preach your last sermon in our new, young, and little church? And what a message it was: to keep the main thing the main thing (of loving God and making disciples),” he said.

“Your intense passion for the Lord, immense heart for people, incredible discipline with time, and influential way of thinking has impacted our lives more than you can imagine,” he added.

A leader who believed in others

Working adults pastor Eugene Yow shared Pr Timothy’s last message to him when he voiced doubt at being able to take on a specific task.

“He sent to me, “I believe in you.” It seems to be a theme. He really believes in us. When I spoke to Teresa to ask how we can help carry some of her weight, she replied: “[to carry] on the call of Every Nation, a personal, generational, missional and geographical call.”

This was the heart and legacy of Pr Tim, to live for God, share the Good News and build the next generation.

Every Nation Church Damansara pastor Shawn Kong, who chaired the bereavement service, led the congregation in communion and read from 1 Corinthians 15:54-58 (from Pr Tim’s final sermon to EN churches).

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain (v58).

“Pr Tim said he would serve God for the rest of his life, no matter what. He once said that he would be so excited to see the book that God has life for the life of Timothy on earth. He would be so excited to see that he has fulfilled and was faithful to what God called him to do,” Pr Shawn shared.

He charged the congregation to live as Pr Tim did, to give themselves fully to the work of the Lord because their labour is not in vain.

“His last exhortation to us was to stand firm and to let nothing move us… God, we thank You. We are so, so sad but we grieve with hope and mourn knowing victory is on our side,” he finished in prayer.

“We thank You, Lord, for Pr Tim. We love him.”

Every Nation Church has set up a digital wall to celebrate Pr Tim and the purposeful way in which he lived. Head to to share any memories you have with Pr Tim and to read how he served his family, Every Nation, Malaysia and God.

Wake services will be held at Every Nation Church Malaysia (Puchong) on Monday, 8 April and Tuesday, 9 April at 8pm. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, 10 April at 10am. A memorial service with the global church family will be on Friday 12 April at 8pm.
